GII focuses on the human impact of infrastructure. We do so by studying and showcasing the influence infra may have on the quality of life and aim to build awareness and provide scientifically based evidence. If done well, infra can mean a significant improvement to day-to-day lives, and perhaps even indirectly be lifesaving. If done ‘wrong’ it may negatively impact peoples life and the environment.
The projects under this theme exist in the study of what infra does to life in a broad sense, what does it mean to have less trucks downtown, what it means in terms of opportunities, how can it develop poor areas, or even decrease crime rates? But also, how can it affect the environment? How can transport be a contributing to health, education, jobs, safety, environment?
